When you enter for the first time to Delta 6.5 you will need to setup the connection to the Delta database. Prior to this the database must be installed in the SQL Server, and this server must be available to the PC running Delta on the network or within the same computer. These are the steps to setup the connection:
- Upon running Delta you will see the following screen, press Nuevo
- In the first field you must setup the SQL Server name, press Refrescar to obtain a list of available servers and select the appropriate one. You can also type in the name of the server
- Select if the connection will be done by Windows login or by SQL Server login, it has to be coherent with the setup in SQL Server. To use Windows authentification select Usar autentificación de Windows NT. To use the SQL Server authentification select Usar autentificación de SQL Server, it will prompt you the user and password, please type in this data, if you’re unaware of the login consult the database administrator.
- Now you can select the available database, you should see a list of database names. In case nothing shows up, check the server name and the login information.
- Make a test for the connection by clicking Verificar conexión, a message of Conexión exitosa should appear this means the connection is correct, otherwise there is a problem that you should check with the database administrator.
- If you need to specify command execution time out, type in the number of seconds. It’s recommended to leave it on 0.
- Once everything is correct, press Aceptar.
